Jade

Jade gemstone beads are valued for their smooth appearance, rich color, and long history in decorative arts and jewelry. The name jade traditionally refers to two distinct minerals, jadeite and nephrite, which share a similar appearance but have different mineral compositions. Natural jade occurs in shades of green as well as white, cream, yellow, lavender, gray, brown, and other tones. Color distribution may be even, mottled, cloudy, or softly varied, giving individual bead strands their own natural character.

Jadeite has a Mohs hardness of approximately 6.5 to 7, while nephrite generally measures about 6 to 6.5. Both are known for excellent toughness, making jade well suited for bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and other frequently worn jewelry. Pair jade gemstone bead strands with metals, wood, glass, or contrasting gemstones, and clean them gently while avoiding harsh chemicals. In gemstone traditions, jade is often associated with harmony, prosperity, wisdom, and protection.
