Sodalite
Sodalite gemstone beads are recognized for their rich blue coloring and distinctive white to cream veining, mottling, and mineral markings. A sodium-rich mineral commonly found in shades ranging from medium royal blue to deep navy, Sodalite may also contain areas of gray, white, or black. Its characteristic lighter markings are often created by associated minerals such as calcite, giving each strand natural variation and a look that can range from softly marbled to dramatically patterned.
With a Mohs hardness of approximately 5.5 to 6, Sodalite is suitable for many jewelry designs but should be protected from scratches, hard impacts, harsh chemicals, and prolonged exposure to water. Use Sodalite gemstone bead strands in bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and layered designs, pairing their deep blue tones with silver-tone metals, warm brass, wood, neutral gemstones, or contrasting colors. In crystal and gemstone traditions, Sodalite is often associated with communication, clarity, intuition, and self-expression.
